✨ Anime Bazaar Recap: Stickers, Candy, and Conversations

Last Saturday of the month means one thing for Hampton Roads anime fans—Anime Bazaar! And as always, it did not disappoint. This month I brought along candy and anime stickers to share, and they turned out to be the perfect icebreaker. Watching people dig through the pile for their favorites gave us all an excuse to chat, laugh, and of course—talk anime.

🎤 Talking Shop with Fellow Fans

One of the best parts of the night was the conversations. I got to chat with fans about everything from:

  • Favorite anime series

  • The eternal question: is Boondocks an anime? (uhhh…no 😂)

  • And of course—which Fullmetal Alchemist reigns supreme (Brotherhood, obviously).

I even found a superfan of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, which just so happened to be my reading material for the evening. That sparked such a fun conversation about how relatable it is for anyone balancing adult life with fandom.

🛍️ Neighbor Vibes & Local Finds

One thing I really loved this month was getting to know my third-floor neighbors at the event. It made the night feel less like vending and more like hanging out with friends.

✨ I picked up a gorgeous decal from Moon Bunny Crafts, whose work always brings such fun, creative flair.
🍋 And I treated myself to the most refreshing lemonade from The Lemon Lab. (Seriously, I may be back just for that lemonade next month.)

💡 What I Took Away

Anime Bazaar always reminds me why I love blending my two worlds—real estate and anime. Sharing candy and stickers opened the door, but the conversations kept people around. Whether we were debating anime classics or swapping vendor finds, the connections felt genuine. And that’s what I love about what I do—connecting with people, whether it’s about manga or helping them find their perfect home base.

🚀 See You Next Month!

Anime Bazaar happens the last Saturday of every month, and you can bet I’ll be back—this time with my vertical sign, more candy, and of course, plenty of anime talk.
